Mother’s Day Ride

It was an absolutely stellar day for riding yesterday.  So, I ditched my intended pool workout and donned the ‘ol riding tights and instead took off for a Mother’s Day spin spin around town to see the sights.  No preconceived route; no distance or time in mind; no drills; just pedaling on pure brussel sprout power with a huge ass grin on my face.

There are no deep thoughts here today, or training tips, or any real specific intent to this post whatsoever, really, just providing you some nice pretty shots for your viewing pleasure.  It’s not always just about the workout after all.

I think he’s about to make his big move (overlooking Lake Ontario towards Toronto).

What do you think he rolls out of there? The Batmobile?

I am very lucky where I live indeed, in that there are multiple scenic areas and locations all within an easy ride and I attempt to take full advantage of this fact over the spring and summer training months.  I’m so happy to be almost almost exclusively outside again as the Niagara Region has it all:  rolling countryside, steep and challenging hills, scenic rural wine routes, majestic landscapes, the Gorge, historical cemeteries and battlefields, blossoming orchards and vineyards, and ice cream…lots and lots of ice cream.

Shit, how can you miss?
